Nathan Price

Nathan Price moved to Chicago from Streator, Illinois in search of opportunity. Having worked construction jobs since high school, Nathan was looking for a career where he would not only earn a good living, but enjoy what he did. He had family living in Englewood who pointed him to Kennedy-King College, and his dad suggested the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program. Nathan not only threw himself into his academics, but became a vital part of the HVAC program and a role model for his fellow students, creating a community of support.

Nathan is engaged, motivated, and supports his peers in their own goals. In addition to being a peer tutor, finding guest speakers to come to class, helping students connect to job and internship opportunities, and volunteering at the Midwest Workers Association, Nathan helped to create the opportunity for students to get an Environmental Protection Agency certification, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

Once he completes the HVAC program, Nathan would like to transfer to a four-year university to continue his education and complete his bachelor’s degree.
