Megan Simmons

Megan Simmons chose to attend Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy because of its rigorous academics and the possibility of earning college credits in high school. High achieving and focused, Megan was ready for a challenge. Her sisters, Morgan and Michelle, were right there with her.

What initially interested her about the Early College program was that even if she didn’t earn a full associate degree, any college credit she earned would likely transfer to a four-year institution – saving her time and money in the future.

While she studied at both Goode and Daley College, she was also a very involved high schooler and part of the bowling team and Science Olympiad club and managed the softball, volleyball, and basketball teams. She was also a Goode Student Ambassador, helping out with events like open houses and recruiting other students. With her impressive GPA, she was also part of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at Daley College.

In May of 2020, Megan earns her Associate in Science then her high school diploma in June. She heads to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in the fall to major in pre-physical therapy with a focus on exercise science.

Megan says “It’s a good experience as long as you stay focused, and you are willing to make sacrifices. You need to be dedicated to your schoolwork.”
