Jason Gary was eager to learn more about careers in the up-and-coming cannabis sector, so when Olive-Harvey College launched the Basic Certificate in Cannabis Dispensary Operations last spring, he knew it was for him.
Jason said he got a much better understanding of the cannabis industry, from the basics of cultivating through current laws and regulations.
“The instructors are excellent. They are knowledgeable and make time for students outside of class to help with everything from resumes to understanding the biology of the plant itself,” he said.
In addition to the support he received from his instructors, Jason also worked with the Career Planning and Placement Center for professional development training and interviewed with OHC employer partners. Ultimately he accepted a job offer with MOCA Modern Cannabis, where he works as a cannabis sales representative. Long term, Jason would like to establish and operate a cannabis growth facility.
