DeMar English

DeMar English walked away from a 15-year career in supply chain at a major food and beverage company to pursue his passion: a career in health care.

Realizing the cost of college and the need for a quality health care education, he enrolled at Malcolm X College in 2013.  After earning his associates degree there, DeMar transferred to Rush University, one of MXC’s four-year university partners.

After he graduated from Rush in 2019, DeMar was hired as an admissions specialist/recruiter for the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program in the College of Health Sciences at Rush University. In this role, he educates prospective students at City Colleges and other community colleges, helping them to navigate the application process while providing insight about his experience.

All the while, DeMar hasn’t stopped his commitment to his own education. He will earn his MBA from National Louis University in the Spring of 2022, and plans to apply to the occupational therapy (OT) doctorate program at Rush, with the goal of owning his own OT practice.
