Alyse Moore has always been a high-achiever – she specifically chose to attend Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy because of its strong academics and Early College program with Daley College. Now, she is one of only two students in the CPS graduating class of 2020 to have completed her Associate of Science in Computer Science in December 2019 – 6 months before she earns her high school diploma.
Alyse was part of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society at Daley College, and the National Honor Society at Goode, where she was also captain of the majorettes and played badminton.
She says it wasn’t always easy and sometimes she felt like giving up. But then, there were moments of pride and excitement about what she could accomplish – like the time she coded her own game in a class at Daley – that helped her keep pushing through. She also took advantage of the resources at Daley College like the library and Tutoring Center to get help when she needed it.
After years of hard work, she has been accepted to Clark Atlanta University – her top choice. She would like to study psychology and criminal justice, and has an interest in a career in forensic psychology.
